MENTORING? AWESOME! HOW DOES THIS WORK? WELL, LET ME TELL YOU.
HOW DO WE DO THIS?
It all happens online via Everyday Film School! You and your Mentor meet in the online school via Live Video Chat, Live Screen Sharing, and your Private Discussion Forum, one on one. To Book, you simply Select a Mentor based on the topics you want to learn about, click Book and follow instructions to book the Topics you want to work on with your Mentor. You'll create an account in the online school when you sign up for your topics.
HOW MANY TOPICS CAN WE CHOOSE?
2, 3, or 4 of your Mentor's listed topics.
WHEN DOES MENTORING OCCUR?
You and your Mentor schedule the times that work for you, but be prepared for about three 40-minute sessions with your mentor, per topic.
Example: 3 Topics Booked: Week 1: Three 40-minute sessions on 1st Topic Week 2: Three 40-minute sessions on 2nd Topic Week 3: Three 40-minute sessions on 3rd Topic
WHAT HAPPENS IN EACH TOPIC?
For each topic: 40-Minutes - Consultation - You and your Mentor have a video chat and screen share session about where you are now and what you want to accomplish.
40 Minutes - Content - Your mentor will share personalized tutorials, teaching, techniques, and pointers to help you get from Point A to Point B in your artistic journey. You may be assigned a skill or task and be asked to share your progress.
40 Minutes - Constructive Feedback - Your Mentor will offer honest, actionable feedback.
WHAT IF THIS EXACT STRUCTURE DOESN'T WORK FOR US?
Totally fine. This is the general guideline of what to expect, but actual timing and planning is up to you and your mentor. You may decide two 1-hour sessions on a topic make more sense, etc.
WILL I SHARE MY MENTOR WITH SOMEONE ELSE?
Nope, this is one on one!
WOW, ONE ON ONE TIME WITH AN EXPERIENCED MENTOR.
Yep! And this is all VIDEO-related.
BUT GOSH, IS THREE 40-MINUTE SESSIONS ENOUGH ON ONE TOPIC?
Remember, you will be doing most of the work outside of your time with your mentor. Like any self-improvement process, you get out of it what you pour into it. Mentors are there to coach and guide you as you dig deep and work on your topic, developing your voice and your skills.
OK, BUT HOW MUCH TIME IN ALL? I'M SUPER BUSY!
After your Consultation and Content sessions, you'll be able to work at your own pace and fit in your shooting, editing, or planning before your Constructive Feedback session at the end of the week. You can do this. It's not a whole course; it's one topic, as in-depth as you and your Mentor make it.
I'VE NEVER SHOT A VIDEO BEFORE. IS THIS RIGHT FOR ME?
No. You need to have some kind of foundation with video, such as The Film Workshop. Mentoring is for anyone beyond the basics of videography. Mentoring is for both hobbyist and professional videographers looking to elevate their work creatively, technically, or in business.
AM I REQUIRED TO TAKE THE FILM WORKSHOP?
No. Any workshop, class, or life experience shooting and editing video will give you enough experience to make the most of your mentoring time. However, if you're a beginner, and you are comfortable shooting stills in manual mode, we recommend The Film Workshop, which has taught over 800 photographers around the world an Introduction to DSLR Video since 2015. It's all online and more info is here.
WHAT IS MY INVESTMENT IN MENTORING?
2 TOPICS = $553.85
3 TOPICS = $830.77
4 TOPICS = 1107.69
OK, DO YOU DO PAYMENT PLANS?
Yep, sure do! BUT if you do this, your first Topic won't occur until payment is made in full.
2 topic plan = 2 monthly payments of $276.93
3 topic plan = 3 monthly payments of $276.93
4 topic plan = 4 monthly payments of $276.93
Payment plans must be on a debit or credit card; single payments can be PayPal.
SO WAIT, BASICALLY EACH TOPIC, WHERE I GET TWO ONE ON ONE HOURS OF MY MENTOR'S TIME, IS REALLY JUST $276.93 PER TOPIC? THAT'S ACTUALLY MORE ACCESSIBLE THAN MOST MENTORING OUT THERE.
ARE THERE OTHER PLACES THAT OFFER ONE ON ONE MENTORING ONLINE FOR VIDEO?
Not with this much choice, flexibility, and affordability! You've come to the right place. Let's get started! Take a look at the Mentors and choose one now. You have nothing to lose! We look forward to working with you.
